It gives you some time out to sit down, an opportunity to really think about the important things, to read and re-read your own words whilst connecting with your thoughts..."

My name is Florence Fox and I created The Vintage Binding Co out of a love of old books, list writing and my creative passions. When I'm not binding, I'm out shooting as I also run my own wedding photography business.  I live in Bristol but post all over the world, recently I've had orders to Canada, USA and Dublin!

The notebooks I create are up cycled vintage novels, ones that need repairing, revamping and loving again. Ones that often have spines falling off and pages falling out, but have tangible history to them where you can trace their past through annotations and well-thumbed pages. What I do is give these books a chance to exist again in a usable capacity, to be looked at and appreciated on a daily basis, whilst inspiring their owner to write more. The finished notebook is hand bound with some of the original pages and 100gsm plain paper, and then encased in the original hardback book cover. Put on a bookshelf you’d never know it was a notebook. For a little insight into exactly how I do this process please feel free to take a look at some videos I have made here, here and here! 

 If there’s nothing on my current stock that takes your fancy, send me a message with your favourite novel or author and I will do my absolute best to find a book that I can rebind to create a notebook just for you. In the past I dug out Alice in Wonderland, Jane Austen, Charles Dickens and many more favourites. I love comments, questions and feedback!
